The children have settled well and are getting familiar again with school routines and expectations. They have looked incredibly hard and should be very proud of what they have achieved this week.

This week, we have been learning Grace Darling and the journey she went on to rescue survivors after a steam ship crashed into the rocks on the Farne Islands. We have written fact files. Then, we have been putting ourselves in her situation and thinking what she might of been feeling on that stormy journey.

Friday 19th March 2021.

This week the children have continued to work very hard. They have had a positive attitude to challenges they have been set and I have loved seeing how excited they have been for the new learning.

This week in maths we have been looking at teen numbers. We matched numerals to quantities of objects. Then we worked out what one more and one less than a given number is. We then tried some tricky problem solving questions!

Highlights from this week.

Friday 26th March 2021.

In English, we have been looking at the characters from the text Little Red Riding Hood. The children worked so well in their groups, discussing the different qualities of each characters and sorting the adjectives collectively. A super job done by all!

This week we started 'show and tell' time in our class. Each day a different colour group will have a allocated time to share news from home or show a special object from home; this could be a souvenir, achievement, interesting object from home.

Monday-Red group, Tuesday-Orange group, Wednesday-Yellow group, Thursday-Green group and Friday-Blue group.

Thursday 1st April 2021.

The children bark rubbing, as part of our science lessons looking at trees.

Easter fun!

We had great fun hunting for eggs and were then rewarded with chocolate ones, when we returned to the classroom!

We enjoyed sampling hot cross buns. They were delicious!

What a great end to a unusual term. The children have settled so well back into school and we have been working up until the last minute, every moment has been utilised! The children deserve their holidays so much and I can't wait to see them back for the summer term!
